Range Evaluation
A representative from the NRA Community Engagement Division recently conducted a Range Evaluation at HAA. The Range Technical Team’s purpose for the visit was to review the general condition of the existing range facilities. Overall, there were suggestions and opportunities to enhance our ranges, but no distinct shortcomings that needed to be addressed. A few of the comments from their assessment were:
"The request to have the Range Technical Team evaluate the facility without provocation is in itself a demonstration of thoughtful reflection."
"From the sign out front, to the condition of the ranges, there is great effort being made to provide a clean, well-maintained, shooting facility for use by the members.”
"Ranges are exceptionally clean and well maintained."
"HHAA leadership appears to be well informed, communicating their understanding that an essential component of operating a sound outdoor shooting range is the need to stay proactive in the management of environmental issues. Evidence of the HHAA’s desire to keep environmental responsibility at the forefront of the operation is seen in several of their actions."
HHA membership can take pride in your club and hold in high regard the volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the grounds. You are all recognized for work well done because you deserve it!

Right on Target
for Dauphin County 4H
Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers was pleased to host the Dauphin County 4H Shooting Sports Rifle Club. The event is sponsored by Penn State University and the Dauphin County Conservation District. NRA Certified Instructor Andy Verbos taught hands-on rules for safe gun handling, rifle parts and operation, and safe use of a rifle for target shooting. There were 13 (ages 8-16) participants in his class. We are always grateful for the volunteers who give young people access to these opportunities!
